Course: NATIONAL HIGH MOCK TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Description:
The American Mock Trial Association suggests that the purpose of mock trial is to assist students in developing critical thinking and public speaking skills and to provide a knowledge of legal practices and procedures by engaging in trial simulations in competitions with teams from other institutions.

Eligibility Criteria:
Teams competing in the NHSMTC are to be comprised of students who participated on the current state championship team, if that student participated at any level of the state’s competition for that team.
The NHSMTC is governed by the Rules of the Competition and the National High School Mock Trial Rules of Evidence.
All teams are responsible for ensuring that the conduct of persons associated with their teams complies with the Rules of the Competition throughout the National Championship.

Fees:
As a reminder, in order to be eligible to participate at Nationals, each state, territory or country is required to pay a Membership Fee. The fee is $200 and is due by January 15th. This membership fee is separate and in addition to a team's $500 tournament registration fee.
