Course: AMERICAN ROCKETRY CHALLENGE
Description:
ARC challenges students to design, build and launch rockets that can safely carry one, two, or three raw hen eggs (depending on the year's challenge) and consistently come very close to a specified flight altitude and duration.
Location:
The Great Meadow facility in The Plains, VA (45 miles west of Washington, DC).
Perks:
The American Rocketry Challenge (ARC) 2024 is an annual competition for students in grades 6-12 to design, build, and launch a rocket that will fly to an altitude of 800-1,200 feet and land safely. The competition is open to teams of 4-10 students, and it is a great way for students to learn about STEM principles and have fun at the same time.
Eligibility Criteria:
Submit an application for a team of three to ten students (grades 6-12) on or before December 1st, 2023. Build a model rocket that carries one large hen egg to an altitude of 820 feet, stays airborne for between 43 and 46 seconds, and returns the rocket to the ground safely with the egg unbroken
